The Portland Trail Blazers will have flexibility with the No. 7 overall pick. However, if they do make a selection, it would make a ton of sense if they took a wing. Word is that the Blazers are going to try to trade for OG Anunoby – and it could likely cost them the No. 7 pick.
However, if the Blazers can’t snag Anunoby away from the Toronto Raptors, perhaps the next best thing is to try and find the next OG Anunoby – and Bennedict Mathurin could be that prospect coming out of this draft class.
Mathurin is athletic, long, a capable offensive player, and has all the tools to be a difference-maker on the defensive end down the line.
