NBA Draft Rumors: According to a recent report, there is a myriad of teams trying to trade up to No. 4 ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft.
Just days away from the 2022 NBA Draft, there is already plenty of smoke. Whether that smoke ever leads to a fire or not on draft night remains to be seen. However, there will be an opportunity for some healthy trade action over the next few days.
According to a recent report, there is a myriad of teams that are trying to trade up to No. 4 overall in this week’s NBA Draft. Of the teams interested, the Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, and New York Knicks are three of them that have been pointed out.
For each of them, the expectation that the target for getting the No. 4 overall pick is likely Jaden Ivey. After the top three prospects – Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith, and Paolo Banchero – Ivey has solidified and separated himself as the fourth-best prospect.
Ivey would be a great fit for each of those three teams – Detroit, Indiana, or New York. Though, moving up to No. 4 will prove to be costly for each team, even for the Pistons who are selecting just one pick later.
The Pacers would like to kickstart their retooling with the best guard in the draft and place him next to Tyrese Haliburton, and the Knicks have been seeking a long-term answer at the point guard position for years – Ivey would solve that.
The Kings have the fourth pick but could be open to trading it, especially if they want to stay away from some potential drama that could be awaiting them if they select Ivey. Of course,
One thing is certain – the Kings will have options. And trading the pick will certainly be one of them on draft night.
