NBA Rumors: According to a recent report, the expectation around the league is that the Miami Heat could emerge as a landing spot for Mo Bamba.

Equipped with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic will have a golden opportunity to reshape the direction of their franchise with one selection. Depending on who they pick, there’s no question that there will be some major repercussions along the rest of the roster.

One that could emerge is that assuming the Magic pick a frontcourt player, it could leave some of their current players at a bit of a crossroads. One player that perhaps is in the most confusing of spots is Mo Bamba.

Bamba is a restricted free agent but could be on the outside looking in regarding the future for the Magic. They could be pivoting in a new direction and in a crowded frontcourt, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Magic elected they were ready to move on from Bamba.

If so, according to a recent report, the Miami Heat is a team that could emerge as a potential landing spot for Mo Bamba.

Even though he’s coming off one of the best seasons of his career this past year, he hasn’t done enough to cement himself as a key building block for Orlando moving forward.

It may be the best course of action for both sides to move forward and the Heat could be an intriguing potential landing spot. He would be a fit next to Bam Adebayo if the team wants him to play the power forward full time.

The Heat was one of the deepest teams this past season. However, if they did have a weakness in their rotation, it was in the frontcourt. After Bam and PJ Tucker, the Heat didn’t have much depth in the playoffs.

And that was evident as Bam was asked to play the majority if not all, the center minutes in the postseason. Dewayne Dedmon faded toward the end of the season, Markieff Morris was never the small-ball big that the team believed he was, and Omer Yurtseven simply was not ready.

I’m not sure if Bamba solves all the issues for the Heat, but he’d certainly be a fit.
