NBA Draft 2022: 3 prospects teams may be tempted to reach for
Bennedict Mathurin, F, Arizona
Benedict Mathurin blew people away with his workouts, and there are even whispers that he could go as high as No. 5 to Detroit. I ranked AJ Griffin above Mathurin, but it was a coin toss, but now I am all-in on Mathurin.
He has excellent 3-point shooting, is an extremely athletic, very high floor, and is guaranteed bust-proof. If the Pistons select Mathurin at No. 5, I can understand it. Even though I have other players ahead of him, like his fellow Canadian Shaedon Sharpe, who is falling in the draft, Mathurin will be an excellent fit for any team.
There will be a myriad of wings taken in the top 10, but there is a scenario in which Mathurin ends up being the best of the pack.
