NBA Trade Rumors: The recent reporting suggests that Kyrie Irving’s days with the Brooklyn Nets could be numbered.
With free agency just a few days away, the Brooklyn Nets are one of the teams that many around the league with have their eyes on. All of a sudden, there are huge question marks regarding the futures of both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
And the most recent reporting on the situation that is transpiring in Brooklyn between Kyrie and the Nets is not exactly encouraging. Of course, not if you’re a Nets fan.
Shams Charania says that the next step for Kyrie is to opt in, find a new team, and help the Nets facilitate a trade for him. Essentially, it’s looking more and more like Kyrie could be done with the Nets.
If you’re not a Nets fan, perhaps it is a bit encouraging considering it appears we’re inching closer and closer to the potential for absolute chaos heading into free agency.
Can you imagine the level of absurdity that would take place if Kyrie is available this offseason, in addition to Kevin Durant? Kyrie is one thing. He has his issues but he’s still one of the most talented scorers of the basketball.
KD, on the other hand, is a generational talent that from day 1 would change the outlook of a franchise – similar to the way he and Kyrie did with the Nets a few years ago.
This could all just be a negotiating tactic from both sides. Ultimately, next season could start with both Kyrie and KD on the Nets roster, but it’s pretty insane that there’s at least a non-zero chance that the Nets trade away both Kyrie and KD this summer.
That should be all you need to be all-in on the NBA offseason. Free agency is less than a week away. Buckle up.
