Tyler Herro will sign a max extension will the Heat

Short of a making a major move, the Miami Heat will have a big decision to make regarding Tyler Herro. He’s in line for a contract extension this offseason and if they can’t reach an agreement, Herro will be a restricted free agent after next season.

Assuming that the Heat would want to avoid that scenario, I believe both sides will work hard to get a deal done. And, ultimately, that will end with the Heat signing Herro to a max extension. It may be a slight overpay, but the Heat needs to ensure that they keep the asset.

Herro has his weaknesses as a player but is coming off an exceptional offensive season in which he won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award. He deserves a hefty extension and I predict that’s what he gets this summer.
