Kyrie Irving opts in with the Brooklyn Nets

Just when it seemed as if Kyrie Irving was going to throw a major wrench in the NBA offseason, he decided that he had enough fun and opted into the final year of his deal with Brooklyn. Could we do this song and dance all over again next season? Perhaps.

However, from all indications, it seems as if Kyrie is going to at least start the season on the Nets’ roster. Where it goes from there remains to be seen. But at least momentarily, it appears the Nets have wiggled out of the hot seat.

Kyrie is not on the open market – and thusly, neither is Kevin Durant. But I have a feeling that this ticking time bomb was just delayed – perhaps until the next offseason, or sooner.
