NBA Trade Rumors: Kevin Durant has demanded a trade and wants to be sent to the Phoenix Suns.
Hours before NBA Free Agency is slated to begin, Kevin Durant has elected to throw early chaos into the offseason air. According to a recent report, Durant has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets and two teams on his preferred destination wishlist are the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat.
A lot can happen and players don’t always get their wish, but there appears to be an upcoming bidding war for arguably the best current player in the NBA.
This offseason just got a whole lot more interesting.
This is all just getting started, but with free agency about to begin, you’d have to imagine that the Nets are going to do everything in their power to expedite this process. Perhaps to help them jumpstart a potential rebuild, perhaps this offseason in free agency.
Brooklyn is reportedly going to look for the best deal possible, regardless of Durant’s wishlist. However, the expectation would be that any team that has even a tad of interest from Durant would want to trade the farm to get their hands on arguably the best player in the world.
This is not a situation where teams should be willing to play a game of chicken with the Nets. The best player in the world is available. No stone should be left unturned and every team in the league should be backchanneling, figuring out how they could get their hands on Durant.
It remains to be seen how all this will unwind over the next couple of days. However, there’s no question that the interest in the NBA offseason has just raised 100 percent. There’s a good chance that there’s going to be a new super team in the league once this deal is done.
Question is, where will it be?
