Heat, Nets get a third team involved

In this final offer, the Miami Heat must get creative in the event that the Brooklyn Nets would want to build a team around Bam Adebayo and not Ben Simmons. In that case, they would need to add a third team. Perhaps one like the Sacramento Kings who showed previous interest in Simmons.

The Kings would absorb Simmons (and perhaps a first-round pick) while sending out De’Aaron Fox to Brooklyn. The Heat would get Durant and the Nets would get the impressive haul of Fox, Bam, Tyler Herro, Nikola Jovic, three first-round picks (from Miami), and pick swaps.

This is finally an offer where the Nets are getting decent compensation. Though, I’m not really sure if the Nets are willing to bend over backward to try to get Durant to Miami. That’s essentially what they would be doing in trying to find a landing spot for Simmons.

Nevertheless, it still feels unlikely that the Nets and Heat could find a strong package that would make sense for both parties and Durant. Though, we have seen stranger things in the Association before.
