Why the Miami Heat should prioritize targeting Donovan Mitchell over Kevin Durant this offseason via trade.

Where there’s smoke, there’s often fire. Especially when it comes to constant NBA trade rumors. And that has been very evident so far this season, with Jerami Grant, Malcolm Brogdon, Rudy Gobert, and Dejounte Murray as a few of the big-name players that have already been traded.

The best part of the offseason is that there’s also still a chance that we could see more headliner players moved – including John Collins, Myles Turner, and Kevin Durant.

While the Miami Heat have been linked to Durant since his trade request was made public, I’d argue that there’s another player that the Heat should be all-in on that isn’t named Durant.

That’s Donovan Mitchell. He’s another player that the Heat has been linked to. Even though he’s not publically on the trade block, there’s at least a chance he could be moved. And, in fact, there’s some reporting that would back that idea up.

We’ll explore three reasons why the Heat should be all-in on Mitchell and not so much on Durant.
