Exploring the five best and most impactful moves of NBA free agency thus far.

We’re only a few days into the 2022 NBA Free Agency period, but it seems like so much has happened in such a short time. And there are still plenty of big names that have still yet to make a decision on their futures.

But here’s the thing with the new era of the NBA; the league’s free agency period is never just about the free agents. In the new era of the NBA, in the player empowerment movement, trades have also been at the center of the NBA’s free agency period.

And that has never been more clear than what we’ve seen transpired so far through the first couple of days in this free agency period. So far, we’ve already seen the likes of Dejounte Murray, Jerami Grant (though, that move was before free agency started), Rudy Gobert, Kevin Huerter, and Malcolm Brogdon traded. And the expectation is that Kevin Durant and John Collins, at least, will also be traded soon.

So I’ve decided to lump that also into “free agency.” With that understood, we explore the five best (and most impactful)  moves of the NBA Free Agency period thus far.
