Target Harrison Barnes via trade

It was reported earlier in the offseason that the Sacramento Kings would be open to trading Harrison Barnes. And after the team added Keegan Murray in the NBA Draft, it would make sense to open up most of the minutes on the wing for him. Moving Barnes falls in line with that thinking.

If that is indeed on the table for the Kings, the Heat should absolutely be interested. Barnes isn’t the defender that Tucker is, but he does represent some of that same versatility on the defensive side of the ball. Plus, Barnes is a better offensive player that would give the Heat an element that Tucker didn’t have.

Acquiring Barnes would likely require a first-round pick from Miami. Question is, would the team be willing to part ways with that asset considering they’re still waiting to pounce on a star, such as Donovan Mitchell. That could be a problem. But, hey, maybe the Kings won’t require a first-round pick?

Either way, it’s something that the Heat should explore.
