2022 offseason

At the start of free agency, the Knicks were able to sign Jalen Brunson to a four-year deal. His father is an assistant on the Knicks, so it was only a matter of time before Brunson was a Knick.

Playing behind Luka Doncic, Brunson had his moments of being great, but it mostly came with Luka off the court. In 17 games without Doncic, Brunson averaged 20 points, eight assists, and four rebounds per game.

There is no ball-dominant player like Doncic on the Knicks.

Brunson will be inserted as the starting point guard. A player who can get the ball to his teammates and has shown times where he can score not only 20 points but in upwards of 30 points or more when he is feeling it.
