2022 offseason part two

The New York Knicks were also to get Kemba Walker off the roster and acquire three first-round picks all while creating cap space. It paid off as that cap space allowed the Knicks to sign Brunson.

Now, the Knicks have a choice to make. First thing first, Julius Randle has to be traded away. He has finessed an entire city, an entire organization with one incredible season.

Randle has become one of the most hated players in New York and it is the best case for the Knicks to look for another first-round pick as a contender out there would love to have Julius Randle.

Secondly, there is no need to trade for an all-star caliber player by giving away our young pieces. As I have stated in numerous articles, a lot of players are not the number one option on a championship team.

A prime example is Donovan Mitchell. Yes, the Knicks were linked to Mitchell but at the cost of him, it would not be worth it. Out of our young core in RJ Barrett, Obi Topin, and Immanuel Quickly, we would most likely have to part ways with two of those three players plus more.

For someone like Mitchell, an all-star, but not a superstar would not be worth it.
