NBA Rumors: What lies ahead for Collin Sexton if reports are true that he has no market?
Before his injury this past season, which cost him to miss all but a handful of games in the 2021-22 NBA season, Collin Sexton was expected to be one of the most sought-after restricted free agents. However, through the first week of free agency, there hasn’t been much reported interest regarding Sexton.
In fact, the only rumblings that have been reported surrounding Sexton is how there isn’t a market for him at the moment.

At least in some respects, that is good news for the Cleveland Cavaliers who have an interest in bringing Sexton back. However, as this report goes on to say, Sexton is looking for at least $20 million per season and the Cavs simply aren’t comfortable giving him that figure at the moment.
Something has to give. And I’m not really sure how this all ends. And it leaves Sexton in a difficult situation. He wants to be a starting point guard and get paid like it. Unfortunately, there aren’t many teams with the necessary cap space to offer Sexton exactly what he wants.
If Sexton doesn’t get the contract offer he wants, he has a couple of options. Sexton could still play for his qualifying offer and be an unrestricted free agent next summer or he could sign a shorter deal with the Cavs, likely for the number that he doesn’t want.
Coming off an injury, this was far from an ideal situation that Sexton hoped to be in. Nevertheless, another shoe has to eventually drop when it comes to his immediate future. However, if he does find a resolution with the Cavs, it will only make their outlook that much more intriguing.
Without Sexton for most of last season, the Cavs were one of the best stories in the Eastern Conference. With him, they have a chance to make some serious noise.
