The NBA’s one-star risers

21. Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards accomplished their goal of re-signing Bradley Beal to a long-term extension this offseason. However, I’m not sure that Beal has enough of a supporting cast around him to make much noise with these Wizards in the East. Still, they should be better than last season.

20. Utah Jazz

After the Utah Jazz traded Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Donovan Mitchell is now the lone star for the team. He will be asked to carry his supporting cast to the playoffs and possibly beyond as the team tries to retool around him.

19. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers have one star in Darius Garland and another possible one in Evan Mobley. The duo needs to show that last season wasn’t an aberration and that they can continue to make positive steps as a franchise. The possible return of Collin Sexton to this team would be quite fascinating.
