9. Minnesota Timberwolves
Many don’t love what the Minnesota Timberwolves did when they essentially went all-in on this season by acquiring Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz, but you have to credit their willingness to put all the chips on the table for what could end up being their best chance at winning a title, or even being relevant in the Western Conference, in decades.
Gobert is the best center that has ever played next to Karl-Anthony Towns and he should help short up their interior defense. Anthony Edwards should continue to make strides in his game as he approaches superstardom.
The Wolves lost some depth in the Gobert deal, but there’s no question this team will have the top talent to compete with almost any other team in the West. The Wolves, if nothing else, should be a really good team this season.
