Philadelphia 76ers – big winner

Trading the 23rd pick in the 2022 NBA Draft for a player who’s way better than the average 23rd pick and on a reasonable team contract in DeAnthony Melton was a good way to start the offseason.

He, combined with old Daryl Morey favorites P.J. Tucker and Danuel House, form a theoretically-awesome 3-and-d rotation around Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey. If that came at the cost of committing four-plus years to James Harden, it would’ve tainted the offseason, but Harden taking a very big haircut without requiring a long-term team commitment is a huge win.

Their top nine figures to be deep and potent heading into next season. This might be their best chance at a championship in a very long time.
