NBA Trade Rumors: Toronto Raptors may target Bojan Bogdanovic
NBA Trade Rumors: The Toronto Raptors could target Bojan Bogdanovic via trade from the Utah Jazz.
The Toronto Raptors have come up as a potential team that could jump in on the Kevin Durant sweepstakes, but this is a team that could elect to make a smaller move (that won’t end up gutting the roster) in an attempt to become a real player in the Eastern Conference this season.
One potential target for the Raptors could be Bojan Bogdanovic. The Raptors were one of the bigger surprises in the East last season and will be looking to take another step in their progression this season. Adding Bogdanovic could help solidify this team’s bench unit.
In a recent podcast, ESPN’s Tim Bontemps and Zach Lowe discussed what they were hearing on the current trade front with the Utah Jazz and Bojan Bogdanovic came up being linked to the Toronto Raptors.
They noted nothing was imminent but it was a name to keep an eye on that could emerge as a potential target for the Raptors, who are looking to make the move from intriguing Eastern Conference team to Eastern Conference contender this season.
Adding a quality contributor such as Bogdanovic would help accomplish that. Bogdanovic is 33 years old but is coming off a season in which he averaged 18 points and four rebounds per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from 3-point range.
Bogdanovic is on an expiring contract with the Jazz and likely won’t be part of the rebuilding phase in Utah. It wouldn’t be surprising if he was shopped before the season but could be more of a deadline day target. Unless the Jazz tries to staple him to a possible Donovan Mitchell deal.
