NBA Trade Rumors: There’s reportedly a growing sense around the league that Kevin Durant nor Donovan Mitchell will be traded this offseason.
By far the two names that have dominated the offseason so far have been Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell. Though, on both fronts, there hasn’t been much development when it comes to a possible climax to their respective stories.
Durant reportedly demanded a trade and not much has changed or materialized in terms of a market. It was said that the Jazz was open to trading Mitchell, but that story hasn’t progressed either.
Wednesday morning on ESPN’s Get Up, Brian Windhorst through another net of doubt that Durant and Mitchell will get traded this offseason. In fact, he went on to say that the Mitchell talks were headed toward a stalemate and the Nets were no longer aggressively making trade calls on Durant.
For those around the league that are hoping to get a resolution on Durant and Mitchell any time soon, this recent reporting does not bode well. I’m sure there is genuine interest around the league regarding Durant and Mitchell, but it doesn’t seem that there are any active offers on the table that have caught the eyes of Brooklyn and Utah respectively.
Even though that can change at any given moment, I often believe where there’s smoke there’s fire. And for the past week, or so, these similar types of reports are what have been leaking from their respective situations.
Heading into the end of July, there’s a very reasonable chance that both Durant and Mitchell will enter the next season still on the Nets and Jazz. Considering all the noise that has transpired over the last few weeks, that would be quite the development.
