Buy-in to new head coach Darvin Ham

Heading into this season, the Los Angeles Lakers can’t waste time trying to play a game of hierarchy with first-year head coach Darvin Ham. If the Lakers want to be groomed into contenders this season, everyone on the roster – including LeBron James – has to be on be all-in on Ham and his vision for the team.

It’s rare that everyone on the team is excited or on board with a specific head coaching hire, but that’s what the Lakers have to do. The Lakers aren’t talented enough that they can get by on just that. No, this is a team that needs to have a united front in all aspects.

And while that’s certainly part of Ham’s job as the head coach, let’s not act like LeBron James and Anthony Davis could have a huge impact in getting the rest of the team on board with this hire. For better or worse, Ham is not LeBron and AD’s biggest ally. They need to act that way.
