The Los Angeles Lakers should be working to upgrade the roster on multiple fronts. And taking a chance on a low-risk, high-reward free agency signing such as Dennis Schroder should be under consideration.
Schroder flirted with the idea of signing with the Lakers recently and perhaps it could be an option. If Schroder is willing to sign a low-money deal, it could make sense. Even more so if the Lakers were to make a Russell Westbrook for Buddy Hield type of deal.

In that case, the Lakers could once again be in need of a point guard. Even though Schroder is not the ideal point guard, he would certainly be a better fit for LeBron James and Anthony Davis than Westbrook has been.
