NBA Trade Rumors: Recent acquisition Jarred Vanderbilt is garnering heavy trade interest from rival teams.
Now that the Utah Jazz has made it clear that no one on the roster is considered an untouchable, there is one player that is reportedly garnering heavy interest from opposing teams. And that player is Jarred Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt was recently acquired in the Rudy Gobert trade package from the Minnesota Timberwolves and is a player that the Jazz could look to flip for an additional asset or two.
Vanderbilt is just 23 years old and is coming off a season in which he averaged seven points and eight rebounds per game on 59 percent shooting from the field. At 6-foot-9, he’s an interesting frontcourt prospect.
If there’s any team out there that is willing to place Vanderbilt in their developmental system to try and reap a productive rotational player down the line, perhaps parting ways with a first-round pick would be worth it.
Though, I’d have to imagine that there are many teams that would be hesitant to offer up a first-round pick for Vanderbilt right now. I’d be interested to see what the trade inquiries are with the Jazz regarding Vanderbilt, but he’s also a player that Utah could elect to keep on the roster.
He’s just 23 years old and is still growing and evolving as a player. He found a nice role last season with the Wolves but was part of a blockbuster package that was sent to Utah for Gobert.
Over the past few weeks, the Jazz has made it clear that nearly every player on the team is available for the right price. And if the team indeed moves forward with trading Donovan Mitchell, there’s a chance we could see a firesale from Utah between now and the NBA’s Trade Deadline.
Either way, keeping a close eye on the Jazz over the next few weeks will be essential for those that love the transaction.
