NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, the Boston Celtics have emerged as a serious threat to acquire Kevin Durant.

After falling just two wins short of winning the 2022 NBA Championship, the indication was that the Boston Celtics could be the next to get what’s theirs in the Association. However, perhaps Boston isn’t entirely open to just waiting for their opportunity.

Interestingly, according to a recent report, the Celtics have emerged as a serious threat to acquire Kevin Durant via trade from the Brooklyn Nets.

Per the report, the Celtics offered a huge trade to the Nets, centered around Jaylen Brown. Brooklyn declined the trade and counted. So far no deal has been agreed upon, but it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.

The Celtics could very well pry Durant out of the hands of Brooklyn. And if they do, that would mean they would have a dynamic duo of Jayson Tatum and Durant.

It doesn’t seem like the Nets are close to moving Durant but it does seem they are perfectly fine with trying to get this bidding war going – something that they’ve been trying to do ever since Durant first made his trade demand.

And maybe the introduction of a new team is exactly what the Durant market needed. Now that it’s been reported that the Celtics have been involved in trade discussions, perhaps it will prompt one of the other Eastern Conference teams to go all-in with an offer.

The next few weeks should be telling when it comes to a possible Durant trade. Something has to change sooner rather than later. Training camps are just around the corner and even though Brooklyn has stated they’re willing to head into it with Durant on the roster, I can’t imagine that would be a good scenario for any side.

Where will Durant land? At this point, it’s really anyone’s guess.
