Jaylen Brown may have hit his ceiling

I don’t love to be the limiting player’s ceilings type of guy, but that’s what I’m going to have to be right now in playing devil’s advocate. Jaylen Brown is going to be 26 years old by the time the next season starts and he may already be in his prime. He may already be the best player he’s ever going to be.

And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but as we saw this past season it clearly wasn’t enough for the Boston Celtics to win a championship. Brown is a really good No. 2 or 3 and that’s exactly what the Celtics have needed. He’s been great on the Celtics next to Jayson Tatum, but the Celtics have clearly needed something more.

Kevin Durant could be the player that helps get the Celtics over the top in the Eastern Conference. Even at the cost of Brown and a few other contributing pieces.
