NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, Draymond Green is willing to leave the Golden State Warriors to get the max extension he wants.

Despite fading toward the end of the season, which bled into the NBA Finals, Draymond Green knows how important he’s been to the Golden State Warriors and how important he can be moving forward.

With essentially one year remaining on his current contract with the Warriors, Draymond reportedly wants a max extension from Golden State. He believes he’s worth a four-year max and intends on getting one.

Perhaps the most interesting part of this entire report is not that Draymond wants a max extension, it’s that he’s reportedly willing to leave the Warriors to get it. It’s not that Draymond wants to leave the Warriors, it’s more so that he wants a contract that he believes he has deserved.

And rightfully so. Draymond has played a huge part in the Warrior’s success. He’s won four NBA Championships with the Warriors and has been the best defender on the team since he took a full-time starting role with the team.

Even though he didn’t really look the part in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, that doesn’t mean he won’t be able to bounce back. Draymond is still just 32 years but the question with giving a max extension to any player is how he’ll age with said contract.

Quite frankly, it doesn’t seem as if Draymond’s game is going to age gracefully. Especially if he can’t figure out a way to stabilize his 3-point shooting. His defense is going to fall off and after that, he will leave much to be desired as an offensive player.

Draymond is still a good player but at this point in his career, at the tail-end of his prime, he’s no longer a max player. Or, at least, not one for the Warriors. Question is, all it takes for him to get his max extension is for one team to agree that he’s worth one.
