Why trading Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors would make sense for the Brooklyn Nets

For the Nets, this would be the best potential return they can get considering the current market for Kevin Durant. Jordan Poole had a terrific season last year, while Moses Moody, James Wiseman, and Jonathan Kuminga are all young players with very high ceilings.

While the Warriors are the defending champs, they’d be competing for NBA championships for the next four years at least and it isn’t like they are experimenting if Durant will work in their system.

Considering next season, there are a lot of teams that will come back healthy and ready to compete for a championship. Adding Durant back to their team will not only have them as favorites for next year but might keep them in the conversation for a championship for the next couple of years.

The Western Conference is getting tougher and if the Warriors want to stay competitive, adding Durant not only takes a load off Curry but it will also free Klay Thompson up for his open looks and we might be able to see a glimpse of what we saw during the 2017, 2018 and 2019 NBA Finals runs.`

For Durant, he’ll get to go back into a situation where he’s had success and he isn’t experimenting with an organization. Every day he’ll get to go and do exactly what he loves to do which is play basketball.

With the massive demand that Sean Marks is asking for, the Warriors might be the only team in the league AGAIN that fits Kevin Durant’s trade interests. Warriors GM Bob Myers is one of the smartest GMs in the league. Currently, the Warriors have a young core the Nets may be able to pick after and get a trade done where all parties are satisfied.

The big question is, are the Warriors willing to trade their young core?
