Notable moves: Acquired Dejounte Murray, traded away Kevin Huerter and Danilo Gallinari, didn’t trade John Collins

Heading into this offseason, the growing narrative surrounded how the Atlanta Hawks were likely going to trade John Collins. That never happened. Instead, the Hawks traded three first-round picks and Danilo Gallinari to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Dejounte Murray. This was a home run move for the Hawks.

Even though the Hawks may have mortgaged their draft future with this move, Murray is a really good young player that should fit great next to Trae Young. He’s barely scratching the surface on the player that he can be and should be a great developmental piece for Atlanta moving forward.

Plus, they managed to retain Collins by adding another potential all-star. And without the right deal, it seems as if the Hawks are fine with heading into the offseason with Collins still on the roster. And with this retooled look, why not see how this team looks with Collins still on the roster?
