Duncan Robinson, Miami Heat

Even if the Miami Heat misses out on Donovan Mitchell and Kevin Durant, I still believe they’ll end up trading Duncan Robinson either before the start of the season or by the NBA Trade Deadline.

Short of the Heat playing Robinson at the power forward position, they will need to trade one of Victor Oladipo, Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, Tyler Herro, or Robinson. Those four players will be battling for key minutes at one key position.

There’s no way the Heat is trading Herro unless it’s for a star. Oladipo can’t be traded until January. And I have a hard time believing the Heat is going to punt on the affordable contracts that Strus and Vincent are currently on.

No matter how much they may value Robinson as a shooter, if he is unplayable compared to the competition around him, there’s really no need for him on the roster. A Robinson trade just makes sense.
