After the offseason, what can we expect from the Portland Trail Blazers heading into 2022-23?
After a miserable and tumultuous season in which they finished with a 27-55 record, the Portland Trail Blazers had many concerns that needed to be addressed heading into the offseason.
Chauncey Billups faced an uphill battle in his very first year as a head coach but looks to improve this Blazers squad and compete in a tough Western Conference. The Blazers signed their franchise superstar Damian Lillard to a two-year extension through the 2026-27 season as he is back healthy and ready to go.
The Blazers also signed guard Anfernee Simons to a 4-year extension worth $100 million after he recorded career highs in points and assists and became one of the top 3-point shooters in the league percentage-wise. The Blazers also signed Jusuf Nurkic to a 4-year $70 million dollar contract as he averaged 15 ppg with 11.1 rebounds per game in 56 games played.
And let’s not forget the acquisition of Jerami Grant who should provide not only another versatile weapon but another adequate wing defender to help solve some of the Blazers’ defensive woes. Is there anything else that the Blazers’ front office can do to improve the roster?
