NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, the Los Angeles Lakers are offering two first-round picks for Kyrie Irving.

A few weeks ago, at the height of the Kyrie Irving madness, it was reported that the Los Angeles Lakers weren’t willing to go all-in, with an offer that centered around two first-round picks, for Kyrie Irving.

However, it seems as if something has shifted recently.

According to a recent report, the Lakers appear now willing to offer two first-round picks for Kyrie. Of course, this doesn’t mean that a trade is about to take place. The Brooklyn Nets also have to be willing to take on Russell Westbrook’s contract too.

And if that does not happen, it doesn’t matter how many first-round picks the Lakers offer – unless, of course, they can find a third team to help them out.

Either way, what we could possibly be seeing from the Lakers is a sense of urgency. With less than two months before teams begin reporting for training camp, Los Angeles could get into serious mode. Even though they’ve said all the right things regarding Russell Westbrook, I have a hard time seeing them walking into camp with him on the roster.

Ideally, the Lakers would like to move him while making a serious upgrade at the same time. While unlikely in a vacuum, the possible availability of Kyrie gives the Lakers that option.

That said, we probably won’t see a Kyrie trade until Kevin Durant is moved first. Or if Durant is moved at all.

Nevertheless, it’s at least interesting that the Lakers have gotten to the point where they’re ready to go all-in with an offer that includes multiple first-round picks.

The question that has floated around the Lakers all offseason is whether or not they’ll essentially be running it back next season. At least for now, it’s hard to say either way.
