Where would the Brooklyn Nets rank in the Eastern Conference?

Looking at the current Eastern Conference hierarchy, the top teams are the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers. The Miami Heat will likely take a step back after losing PJ Tucker.

Quite frankly, the Nets, if healthy and engaged, should be better than the Sixers. You can make an argument for the Celtics and Bucks as better teams than this current Nets roster. I don’t see one fit for the Sixers.

At the very least, if the Nets are healthy, they will be a top 3 team in the East. And at their peak, they have the chance to win a championship. For the Nets, it could very well come down to fit and health.

It may actually be better for the NBA (and their desired parity) if Durant and Kyrie stayed on the Nets. Especially with the potential that this team has. But, at least for now, I find it hard to believe that Durant will move off his demand. And if Durant isn’t on the Nets, I can’t imagine Kyrie will be when the season starts. Nevertheless, we shall see how it all plays out.
