Ranking the 10 best NBA players age 23 and under heading into the 2022-23 season.

NBA Training camps are set to open in a little over a month. And as the league transitions or pivots to some of their younger stars, it’s natural to try and predict who the next slate of standout players could be.

And one of the better groups to highlight is the under 23 club.

Before we jump into the list of top 10 players under the age of 23, there are a few things that we have to understand. In other words, there are some ground rules to this list.

Rules for ranking the 10 best NBA players under the age of 23

First, I’m not considering rookies. It’s unfair to place them on this list without having any real NBA experience. So while there’s a chance a rookie could be worthy of a spot on this list, I’m omitting them entirely.

Second, this list will comprise of players 23 AND under. And they must be 23 years old by the start of the season. If they are 23 at the moment but will turn 24 before the start of the season, they don’t qualify. (For example, Trae Young is 23 but will turn 24 in September. Therefore, he doesn’t qualify for this list.)

And lastly, I added potential to my formula of ranking players. So, if I believed in a specific player’s potential more than others, that’s generally how I broke ties.

With that out of the way, let’s get to the list.
