Brad Stevens is a better executive than he was a head coach
It was a huge shock when Brad Stevens stepped away as the Boston Celtics head coach last offseason, but there’s no question that he’s arguably been a better executive than a coach. In his lone season as an executive, he helped lead Boston to the NBA Finals.
And this offseason, he picked up where he left off by acquiring Malcolm Brogdon for no rotation players and is returning essentially the same roster. Get this: The Celtics are bringing back an NBA Finals roster AND adding Brogdon to it. That’s semi-unfair for the rest of the Eastern Conference.
Oh, and let’s not forget that they also added Danilo Gallinari in free agency.
The Celtics quietly made some of the best moves of the offseason once again and you have to credit Stevens.
