Which player needs to step up for the Charlotte Hornets this season?

Two players will be natural candidates for the Charlotte Hornets to lean on this upcoming season after LaMelo Ball – Kelly Oubre Jr. and Terry Rozier. That said, both of them come with their uncertainties.

Oubre can be an inconsistent player at times but did average 15 points and four rebounds per game on 44 percent shooting from the field. That said, he’s in the final year of his contract with the Hornets and has already been linked to trade rumors.

Rozier will need to step up and there’s a chance that Charlotte’s chances of staying afloat in the Eastern Conference will revolve around his ability to do so. And Rozier has been pretty consistent for the Hornets over the last three years; last season, he averaged 19 points and five assists on 44 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent shooting from 3-point range.

If the Hornets are going to begin to step out of irrelevancy, they’re going to need Ball and Rozier to be one of the better duos in the East. Quite frankly, I’m not sure how viable that is.
