Four teams that will likely take a step back heading into the 2022-23 NBA season.

It seems as if the dust has finally settled in one of the most chaotic NBA offseasons in recent history. And just when it seemed as if the offseason was going to be a dud, it was jam-packed with plenty of blockbuster transactions.

Free agency aside, we saw Rudy Gobert, Malcolm Brogdon, Christian Wood, Dejounte Murray, and Donovan Mitchell traded. Less than a month before the official start of training camps, the NBA is finally in a place where we can begin anticipating the new season. Trade rumblings are over and the majority of the big names are officially signed.

How many NBA teams will take a step back this season?

Though, it’s not all lemon drops and gumdrops for every team in the league. As is the case every year, while there are teams that will certainly take steps forward this season there will also be teams that unfortunately take steps back.

It’s the nature of the offseason. For every team that signs or trades for a good player, there’s one team that loses one. Heading into 2022-23, which teams are destined to take a bit of a step back?
