In our latest 30 in 30, we check in on the Chicago Bulls and explore why another retooling of the roster could be on the horizon.

The 2021-22 NBA campaign for the Chicago Bulls had many different interpretations. On one hand, they were red-hot to start the year. Then, extremely cold during the second half of the season. Injuries also took a toll on them and they struggled mightily against the top teams in each conference.

All in all, their season ended unceremoniously in the first round of the playoffs at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks. That said, there was some reason for optimism last season. And that has led to some hope heading into the 2022-23 season.

Where it could all fall apart for the Chicago Bulls

The one area where the Bulls’ hope could wane is when it comes to injuries. And that’s something that hurt Chicago drastically last season. Unfortunately, it’s also something that the Bulls are going to have to deal with entering training camp.

According to a recent report, the expectation is that Lonzo Ball will likely miss the start of training camp and could end up missing the start of the regular season.

If those injuries linger into the season and the Bulls underwhelm this season, it could lead to greater questions.
