Did the Orlando Magic make the right selection with Paolo Banchero?

Now that the Orlando Magic has drafted Paolo Banchero, it remains to be seen exactly what role he will play and how he will fit in offensively and defensively. Will Mosley insert him into the starting lineup immediately? Will they bring him along slowly and pace his development?

Whatever the organization decides to do they know that they have a potential franchise-changing player on the roster. Banchero has a quiet confidence in himself and can affect a game even when his shot is off. He will have to work on becoming more explosive and improve his playmaking.

Banchero is a bit slow paced but his ball handling, court vision, passing, and ability to consistently make the midrange shot makes up for whatever he lacks in athleticism. Banchero is considered by some to be a generational kind of talent who could become a major factor in determining whether the Magic will be in the championship conversations in the coming years. His offensive versatility and unique skill set allow him to go from power to finesse allowing him to score in a variety of ways.
