NBA Trade Rumors: Grizzlies, Bucks interested in Jordan Clarkson
NBA Trade Rumors: The Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, and Sacramento Kings are keeping a close eye on the Jordan Clarson trade market.
Now that Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert have both been traded, the Utah Jazz is expected to move forward with parting ways with a few other veterans on their roster. The three players that they’re interested in moving are Mike Conley Jr., Bojan Bogdanovic, and Jordan Clarkson.
There should be a relatively strong market for at least two of those players – Bogdanovic and Clarkson. Both are on expiring deals (though Clarkson has a player option for next season, which he could easily opt out of) while Conley still has another year remaining on his deal after this season – he could be a bit more difficult to move.
Jordan Clarkson may be the most sought-after name of the bunch
Nevertheless, the hope is that Jazz can move all three of them before this year’s NBA Trade Deadline. And there should be interest.
According to a recent report, the Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, and Sacramento Kings are among the teams that have shown interest in Clarkson.
Clarkson is the player that may carry the move trade value of the three too. He just turned 30 years old and is coming off two and a half highly productive season for the Jazz off the bench. This past season, he averaged 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists on 42 percent shooting from the field.
Especially for a contender, Clarkson adds clear value. For the Grizzlies and Bucks, he could solidify their bench units. And perhaps even play a role as a spot starter throughout the regular season. For the Kings, the hope would be that Clarkson could add some veteran experience to a young team and could help add depth as well.
It’ll be interesting to see – or hear – what the ask would be from Utah. You’d have to imagine that they’ll be looking for a late first-round pick or even a young player in exchange for Clarkson. Based on the return for Gobert and Mitchell, that’s a fair assumption.
The Jazz is in the early stages of a rebuild and is off to a good start considering the huge packages that they received in exchange for their stars. But this is where the work begins or continues.
Utah seems like a team that is still moving pieces around and they could be active in the trade market up to this year’s deadline.
