30 in 30: Can Ja Morant carry the Memphis Grizzlies to another level?

Thanks in large part to the rise of Ja Morant to superstardom, the Memphis Grizzlies quickly emerged as one of the best stories from last season in the Western Conference. Even though their story ended in the conference semifinals, the hope is that this is just the beginning for the franchise.

However, if the franchise is going to take another step forward, that onus will likely fall on the shoulders of Morant who will be entering his fourth season in the league.

Should the Memphis Grizzlies be considered a favorite in the West?

Looking at the rest of the Western Conference, there’s a chance for the Grizzlies to once again take the conference by storm. With the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and LA Clippers stealing all of the headlines, the Grizzlies will likely be overlooked once again entering the season.

And if Morant and the rest of this core are doubted, they’re only going to have to play their way into the conscience of the rest of the league.
