We take a deep dive into the Miami Heat and explore whether they can explore regression heading into the 2022-23 NBA season.

The Miami Heat are one of the most intriguing teams heading into the 2022-23 NBA season. As many teams in the Eastern Conference took tangible steps forward, the Heat didn’t really do much of anything during the offseason – other than pursuing the pipe dreams that ended up being Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell.

Well, in their defense, they did re-sign Caleb Martin, Victor Oladipo, and Udonis Haslem. They also drafted Nikola Jovic with the first-round picks in the 2022 NBA Draft. Other than that, though, the Heat was relatively quiet during the summer.

A rough offseason for the Miami Heat

One of the bigger storylines for the Heat heading into the new season revolves around the loss of PJ Tucker, who signed with the Philadelphia 76ers during free agency. Not only did the Sixers manage to get better with the addition of Tucker, but they also successfully made the Heat (who knocked them out in the Eastern Conference semifinals) weaker.

The question is, what type of impact will the Heat’s inactivity during the summer have heading into the new season?
