Can the Oklahoma City Thunder finally take a tangible step forward in their progression?

For the past two seasons, the Oklahoma City Thunder have struggled as one of the worst teams in the league. Respectively, the Thunder has only won 24 and 22 games over the past two years. However, the hope is that OKC can begin to change that trend this season.

The Thunder has a roster full of young talent and a budding star that has continued to excel in the shadows over the past three seasons.

The loss of Chet Holmgren will hurt the Oklahoma City Thunder

Though, if the Thunder is going to take a step forward in their progression they’re going to need a couple of their young players to step up. Unfortunately, one of them will not be able to be Chet Holmgren who is out for the season after suffering a Lisfranc injury in his right foot.

Holmgren was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and had promise as potentially the league’s next unicorn. While it’s a shame that the Thunder will be without Holmgren this season, there are other intriguing young pieces in place that could help catapult OKC this season.
