The questions surrounding Julius Randle

While there is reason to be optimistic about the New York Knicks heading into the 2022-23 NBA season, there are also some concerns about the team and roster. And one of the bigger questions that is facing the Knicks is what will end up happening with Julius Randle.

Randle still has three (possibly four, with a player option) years remaining on his current contract with the Knicks but there’s one big problem – he may not be a fit on the team anymore. And if they hope to make another big splash either this season or next, they’ll likely have to figure out how to get his contract off their books.

Trading Randle is something that has been whispered throughout the offseason but not something that actually came to fruition. At the very least, it’s something to keep monitoring heading into the regular season and up to the NBA Trade Deadline.

That said, it likely wouldn’t make or break the Knicks season either way. New York should be confident that they will be better this season compared to last. How good? I’m not sure anyone can confidently answer that. But the Knicks will be better.
