Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers

Despite the Ben Simmons dilemma, the Philadelphia 76ers managed to remain a contender in the Eastern Conference in large part due to Joel Embiid. He’s consistently been one of the best, if not the best, big men in the game and hasn’t shown any signs of stopping anytime soon.

Embiid is an MVP candidate and will be one of the favorites to win the award this season. But if the Sixers get off to a slow start or stumble their way into trouble at all this season, it will open the door for the possibility of some drama between Embiid and the franchise.

Embiid is locked in with the Sixers for the foreseeable future but as we’ve seen time and time again recently in the league, if a player wants out he’s more than likely going to get out. Even more so for a star in the midst of his prime, such as Embiid.
