NBA Trade Rumors: Phoenix Suns’ Jae Crowder will sit out until he is traded
NBA Trade Rumors: Jae Crowder will sit out the start of Phoenix Suns training camp until the team finds a trade for him.
The Phoenix Suns decided to run it back this offseason in hopes of recovering from a disappointing showing in the playoffs a year ago. However, it doesn’t seem as if the team is going to have the complete team back.
All offseason long, it seemed as if Jae Crowder was going to be traded. That now became a reality, just a couple of days before the official start of the team’s training camp.
According to a recent report, the Suns and Crowder have agreed to find a trade. While they are doing so, Crowder has been excused from training camp.
Jae Crowder could be an interesting addition to a contender
This is far from surprising, especially considering that Crowder is entering the final year of his contract. Crowder clearly wants more security beyond this season and as soon as it became clear that the Suns weren’t willing to give him that, he probably informed the team that he wanted out.
Considering that there was a chance that Crowder wasn’t even going to be a starter this season, the Suns aren’t going to create a headache that they don’t need. Phoenix is going to work toward a Crowder trade and letting him sit out only makes sense.
It would be a waste to have Crowder running around Suns training camp, for both parties. Ultimately, this made the most sense. Especially if there’s no imminent trade. This opens the door for Phoenix to be patient in trade discussions and to really scour the market for the right deal.
Crowder is going to be on a new team, and probably sooner rather than later. This always seemed like the most likely outcome during the offseason.
