Heading into the start of the 2022-23 NBA season, it appears that the Utah Jazz is all-in on Victor Wembanyama.

The full rebuild is officially underway in Utah. During the offseason, that much was revealed when the Utah Jazz traded Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. Heading into the 2022-23 NBA season, it will be all about building for the Jazz.

Faced with uncertainty and complacency, the Jazz elected to begin the inevitable. It seemed as if the duo of Gobert and Mitchell had reached its peak and it was in the best interest of the team to start the rebuild now. And that’s exactly what they did.

What is the foundation of the rebuild for the Utah Jazz?

In return for their superstars, the Jazz will now begin their rebuild with Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji, Collin Sexton, Malik Beasley, Leandro Bolmaro, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, seven first-round picks, and three pick swaps.

It’s quite the return for both Mitchell and Gobert and will give the Jazz a solid foundation for a rebuild. However, that doesn’t guarantee a successful build. Utah very much still has plenty of work ahead of them.
