NBA Coach of the Year: Ty Lue, LA Clippers

I’m under the impression that there’s a very good chance that the LA Clippers end up being the best team in the league this season. And if that’s the case, there are two things that will end up being so. First, Kawhi Leonard will likely get some NBA MVP consideration. Second, Ty Lue will win the NBA’s Coach of the Year.

Lue is a really good coach and doesn’t get quite the credit that he deserves. And with the Clippers, he’s done a great job every since he’s been given the full reins. Kawhi may be back this season but the Clippers’ hopes of winning a championship go well beyond just the health of their star.

This is a big year for the Clippers. They fully invested in the idea that the duo of Kawhi and Paul George could deliver this franchise a championship. If they fail to do that this season, under the assumption that both stars will be healthy, it’s only going to bright about more doubt regarding the franchise’s future.

I’m not sure if the Clippers are going to win the championship but Lue will win the NBA’s Coach of the Year award.
