Russell Westbrook will NOT be traded

Even though all the momentum surrounding this team has revolved around them eventually moving Russell Westbrook at some point this season, I want to make the prediction that they won’t do it. I don’t think Russ is going to completely change the narrative on his fit with the Lakers, but it will be workable enough where Los Angeles will stick it through.

In an attempt to retain two huge assets (their two trade-eligible first-round picks), the Lakers will decide to keep Russ on the roster instead. And I don’t believe it will be the disaster that most people believe it will be if Russ is not traded.

If new Lakers head coach Darvin Ham can dial up the right rotations, I believe Russ can work. Especially now that the Lakers have some insurance at the position with Kendrick Nunn and Patrick Beverley.

It may not be perfect but it can’t be worse than last season.
