Draymond Green will spend a few days away from the Golden State Warriors, but is that enough?

The Golden State Warriors are supposed to be entering the 2022-23 NBA season with hopes of repeating. Instead, that isn’t the only headline that surrounds the team just a week before the start of the regular season.

Now, the Warriors have to deal with an unwanted situation that came across their laps thanks to Draymond Green. Earlier this week, Draymond had a physical altercation with Jordan Poole. A couple of days after it was reported, a video that made the entire situation a lot worse was released.

Is Draymond Green’s response enough to make the noise go away?

Saturday, Draymond publically apologized and “faced the noise.” The newsworthy of it all was that Draymond announced that he was going to spend a few days away from the team. Question is, will that response be enough?

Should it be enough?

The video is bad enough and it’s not that the Warriors know about their dirty laundry; it’s that everyone now knows about their dirty laundry. And it’s pretty bad.

This altercation brings about bigger questions than the Warriors want at the moment. For instance, is this something that has been building up over the course of time? Is this the first time that Draymond has gone at a teammate?

These may be unfair questions to ask, but have to be thrown around considering just how comfortable Draymond looks in attacking Poole.

But that’s something the Warriors could simply sweep under the rub. Maybe Draymond is just going through some rough stuff and his comments would indicate that. But this is not something that should be forgotten.

Even if that is “locker room culture,” that’s not healthy by any means. And should be addressed. I suppose it is to a certain extent. Though, the Warriors are going to have to decide if that’s enough. That won’t be an easy decision.
