Five middle-of-the-pack NBA teams that should consider tanking for Victor Wembanyama. 

As the 2022-23 NBA season quickly approaches, the tankathon watch will quickly begin across the league. Essentially, it’s the race for the best chance at landing the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. And with a generational talent such as Victor Wembanyama waiting as the top prize, this could be the most important tanking race in quite some time.

And there will be plenty of teams leading the race at the beginning. To begin the season, the likes of the Utah Jazz, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, and Oklahoma City Thunder will be the early favorites to land the best odds of getting the No. 1 overall pick. Though, the race for the No. 1 pick may not be restricted to those teams.
